I had the older version of this razor with 2 cells (2.4V). It worked better than the current version with a single cell (1.2V). The new 1.2V razor bogs down when cutting a heavy beard and thus pulls a bit. It's not as comfortable or close a shave as the older "Sonic" razors. Nevertheless, $35 for a razor and nose trimmer is a great deal. The Panasonic Linear razors cut more quickly without slowing down but because of the high speed, the blades and cutter wear out more quickly too.
